In Top Hat, homework is created using a part of the platform called Pages. If you have ever used a Top Hat Textbook before, you will be familiar with Pages.

Pages are symbolized by a green document icon. Select the Pages item from the content tree that homework pages wish to complete to make it show up in the preview pane. Items including Pages can be assigned under two different statuses in Top Hat — Homework or Review. If an item is assigned as Homework, the grades for that item will be recorded, homework pages. You can see whether an item is assigned as Homework or Review beneath its title in the content tree. You can also see whether a homework pages date has been set for that item as well. If your professor has applied custom grading to a Page, you may notice a discrepancy between the total grade denominator for the item and the denominators of the individual questions within, homework pages.
